The Women’s World Car of the Year jury has announced the winners in each of the six categories for the 2023 awards.
The winners were chosen based on several factors, including safety, driving, comfort, technology, design, efficiency, impact on the environment and value for money. This year’s awards were particularly challenging for the jurors due to the excellent quality of all the candidates. The six winners will go through to the final round of judging to determine the winner of the Women’s World Car of the Year award, which will be announced on 8 March, International Women’s Day.
The Women’s World Car of the Year is the only car awards group in the world comprised exclusively of women motoring journalists. Created by New Zealand motoring journalist Sandy Myhre in 2009, the unique award aims to recognise the best cars of the year and give a voice to women in the automotive world. The voting criteria are based on the same principles that guide any driver when choosing a car, and the jurors do not select a ‘woman’s car’ because cars are not gender specific.
This year’s winners represent excellence in their categories, and each one has unique features that make them stand out.
The Winners

The Citroën C5 X took home the Large Car award, thanks to its exceptional comfort, roominess, and attractive design, available with petrol and plug-in hybrid engines.
